I have a very scattered way of recording my favourite quotes and overheard words of wisdom that I want to remember. Usually I write them in the notebooks I use for my to-do lists, but since there's always a lot to do and a lot of other things that get scribbled down there they end up scattered across dozens of books, with not much chance of me being able to find it again easily if I half-remember one of them and want to look it up. Some people have the better idea of using dedicated notebooks for this alone, but that could be impractical for me too as those things I write down aren't always just short quotes but also favourite passages from books, conversations from movies, interesting things I've heard in real life etc. So a single notebook for that would get filled much too quickly.
Thinking of that is when I had the idea to start writing this blog. Using my own blog to do it would just be a digital equivalent of what I do already with mixing them all in with everything else I write, so I thought I'd start another one to do it, and that way anyone else who wants to read them can enjoy them too as well as it being a way for me to record them. I'll probably just post when I've heard or read something especially great, but also maybe I'll take some from the old notebooks and put them in a more ordered fashion here, or write some favourites by theme or by favourite writer etc. when I have the time.
To start with, some of my favourite lyrics.

My quote notebook is almost filled and I've only had it for 3 months. I'm going to have to buy a second one soon :)
ReplyDeleteI have always thought Whiskey Lullaby was the most depressing country song in existence haha.
Good to know I'm not the only one who writes down a huge number of them :)
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly not the most light-hearted song in the world haha but the small number of country songs that I love are almost all that type which are really sad but have great stories, the cheesy happy type are usually so annoying... what was that movie where the guy said that Achy Breaky Heart is the elevator music on the way down to hell? haha I must look that up to put it in a future post here.
Monkey monkey! :3 how cool that you have this kind of blog ^^ (I defenitely ADORE the background *-* hahaha) And I loved your lyric's quotes ^O^ they're kawaiiii :3 I look forward to more writing from you here! :3 mukya! :3
ReplyDeleteHahaha I haven't heard that Achy Breaky Heart quote! It's so true though! Sounds like an amazing movie haha. I usually despise the majority of country music too, but there are a few I enjoy. It's hard to get away from it because country music is unfortunately all my friends listen to.
